As the Fire Chief, it is my honor and privilege to work side-by-side with the men and women of the Akron Fire Company. Through their time and talents, their dedication to duty, dignity in their work and their commitment, they provide the utmost quality of service to our community.    
   
The Akron Fire Company is a unique organization that strives to anticipate the needs of the citizens, and has a long tradition of providing high quality fire and emergency medical services to this community. We take pride in the delivery of emergency medical services, fire protection, fire control and fire prevention services with a genuine commitment to those we serve. These services are provided by highly trained and motivated staff of volunteer fire professionals. 

Being an institution founded on the principles of service, compassion and humanitarianism, it should come as no surprise that the people who are part of the Akron Fire Company are, themselves, a unique group. The membership includes local businessmen, consultants, laborers, corporate managers, clergy, health-care providers, civil servants, teachers, utility providers, engineers, retirees from many fields. The many talented and gifted individuals are attracted to the Fire Company because of its high-caliber reputation and the strong emphasis on training and excellence. Our personnel continue to develop different programs that add to the safety and well being of the citizens. The firefighters of this Fire Company are truly devoted to the welfare of our community. As a department, we have worked hard to foster and maintain a strong sense of community and mutual respect not only within its ranks, but statewide. Due to the dedication of the officers and firefighters of past and present, that we effectively overcome challenges and enjoy the respect and confidence of those in our community and the fire service experts of our surrounding agencies.
